Kuol Manyang Juuk

Kuol Manyang Juuk is the Governor of the State of Jonglei. Jonglei seceded from Sudan as part of the Republic of South Sudan on 9 July 2011.


February 25, 2012: Kuol Manyang Juuk signs into law the transitional constitution of the state. President Salva Kiir Mayardit attends the ceremony. Governor Kuol Juuk retakes oath of office.

July 19, 2011: The Governor of Jonglei, Kuol Manyang Juuk called for the quick adoption of the country’s new currency released on Monday. Juuk said, 'This is a great achievement within few days of independence. It took some countries including our neighboring countries of Uganda and Kenya for example, time to introduce new currency when they got their independence'
